1.ASTM A182 F321 Stainless Steel Flanges

The Alloy for ASTM A182 F321 Stainless Steel Flanges is a titanium stabilized austenitic stainless steel. One important feature of the ASTM A182 F321 Flanges is that the alloy has good resistance to general corrosion .

A182 F321 Material has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion, even after the material has been exposed to elevated temperatures, in the chromium carbide precipitation range i.e. a range between 800 °F to 1500°F. The alloy for A182 Grade F321 BLRF is known to resist oxidation in environments, where the temperature can rise to as high as about 1500°F. Further, in comparison to stainless steel alloys 304 and 304L, A182 Gr F321 SORF has a higher creep and stress rupture strength properties.

SS 321 Blind Flange also possesses good toughness properties at lower temperatures. In fact, SS 321 Slip On Flange maintains its excellent toughness properties, even down to cryogenic temperatures. Hence, it can be used not only in applications where the temperatures are high, but also in cryogenic temperature settings.

Besides having higher strength at temperatures above 1000°F, the ASTM A182 F321H Flanges was developed for enhanced creep resistance properties.

A182 F321H Flange cannot be hardened by heat treatment. The alloy for 321 Stainless Steel Flanges can be hardened only by cold working. Generally flanges made from ASTM A182 F321 Stainless Steel Flanges can be easily welded and processed by conventional shop fabrication techniques. Post-weld annealing is not required for Stainless Steel 321 Flanges.

Due to the carbon content in both the alloys, both 321 stainless steel as well as A182 F321H Material can have dual certification.
